Reporting to the Finance Director you will play a key role in managing customer credit, monitoring accounts receivable, and collecting outstanding balances. Working closely with the Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams, you will help maintain the company's financial health while providing professional service to our customers.

Responsibilities

As a Credit and Collections Officer , your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing customer credit files to determine credit limits and minimize the risk of bad debt;
  • Managing collections activities, including making courtesy calls to follow up on overdue accounts;
  • Resolving payment-related issues such as unapplied payments, disputed transactions, and missing documentation;
  • Negotiating payment arrangements in accordance with internal credit policies and guidelines;
  • Working closely with our Sales and Customer Service teams;
  • Reviewing customer accounts and taking appropriate action to promptly release orders that are on hold;
  • Replying to customer inquiries regarding their accounts;
  • Following up on invoice disputes and working toward timely resolution.

To perform, you need to :

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Fluency in English as you will be supporting an English-speaking customer base;
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
  • Curious, proactive, team-oriented, and detail-oriented;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as most customer interactions are conducted by email or over the phone
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize workload.
